Cocktail Hour - Saturday January 26, 2013
Used one of my new champagne coupes for a couple martinis on Saturday night. What a cool glass. It reminds me of what people drank cocktails in in old movies from the 1930s. It just so happens that Dale and I watched The Thin Man tonight.

Champagne Coupe
I recently found a pair of champagne coupe glasses promoted in GQ magazine and decided to order a pair from amazon.com. The came the other day and I love 'em. They're petite but solid. Here's the description of them that appears on amazon:
"With the repeal of Prohibition in 1933, the air was filled with the sound of clinking glasses, not in tall flutes, but in swellegant, bowl-shaped coupes. Champagne, after all, deserves a full, real wine glass with both shape and dimension. (When you hold them you feel fabulous). Many classic short cocktails are now served in a coupe rather than a martini (or cocktail) glass, so these versatile glasses serve double duty."
