Jagermeister Flask

While visiting Sam in Leavenworth for Memorial Day Weekend, I bought some Jagermeister during a liquor store stop. It came with this nifty flask. Sam said he had never tried Jag so we each had a shot at home. He said he liked it so I left the bottle with him.

Gin and Tonic Season Has Begun

Visiting Sam in Leavenworth for Memorial Day Weekend. We all went out to a rib joint for dinner. Dale and Sam had beer. I ordered gin and tonics. Very refreshing.

Saturday Night Dance Party

The following is from Dale's blog: "Our friends Mike and Charisse invited us to their house last night for drinks and dinner. Since the weather was so lovely, we ate out on their deck and the wine and martinis just flowed. These folks are so much fun and we have so much in common that time just flies." "Anyway, after the sun went down, Charisse started getting a little chilly and asked if we wanted to play something she calls the YouTube Song Game. It was just a ruse to get us to go inside, but we're nothing if not easy, so in we went. The idea is simply to pick a YouTube song in your head and play it. The next person picks a song and on down the line. Pretty simple." "Simple but fascinating. I had a song in my head to play, but the songs preceding mine made me think of other songs instead and we ended up by the end of the evening with a 28 song playlist, with songs I haven't thought of in years. They were mostly '80s songs, but we hit pretty much every decade from the '60s on." "At one point, Mike played Madonna's "Vogue" and it turned into a 6 or 7 song long dance party with just the four of us. I do not recall the last time I danced. What a great time. I also don't remember the last time we stayed at someone's house past midnight. That's what good friends, good music and good wine will do."

Jag

Today, at the conclusion of my physical, my good doctor gave me a clean bill of health. When I got home I decided to toast this happy news with a shot of Jag even though I have a bit of a cold. Probably appropriate since Jagermeister was originally developed as a cough syrup. I'll drink to that...
