Twenty-Sixth Cigar of 2015

Another Punch. Sadly, this one was a little tough on the draw. The vodka iced tea I made was good though...

Seventeenth Cigar of 2015

Tuesday, June 9 2015
Lit up a La Flor Dominicana digger and watched some film noir, namely Lady In the Lake starring and directed by Robert Montgomery. He plays private eye Phillip Marlowe, and, according to the DVD case, he uses "a subjective camera presenting the action from Marlowe's point of view. What Marlowe sees, we see." It's a pretty cool effect, actually. Very good movie.

Cocktail Music - Pink Martini

Monday, June 8, 2015
It's hard for me to categorize the genre of music Pink Martini embodies. They describe themselves as a "little orchestra," and they delve into many different musical styles including jazz, classic pop, latin, and classical. Dale and I saw them at Orchestra Hall a few years ago and they put on a great show. Ari Shapiro, the National Public Radio correspondent, makes and appearance as guest vocalist on the song But Now I'm Back and and Emilio Delgado from Sesame Street performs Joe Raposo's Sing, a song from my childhood.

Sixteenth Cigar of 2015

Monday, June 8, 2015
Last day of school with kids this past Friday. Last contract day today. I was outta there aroun 1 p.m. I'm so exhausted but I feel good about it because I put my heart and soul into it again this year. Came home and got some cleaning done as well as some gardening. Right now I have a maduro Hoyo de Monterrey Excalibur fired up and am working on a Tanqueray martini. Earned a little bit of extra money due to some various projects at work. I'm thinking of just putting it all in a cigar fund. Looking forward to a great and smokey summer.

Fifteenth Cigar of 2015

Sunday, June 7, 2015
I bought this cigar to smoke with Mike but the one I started the night with lasted long enough. Smoked this one yesterday. Would have been suspicious, but Mike recommended this one when I went to pick a couple up for both of us. It was great. By the way, Macanudo was the first cigar I ever smoked. I think I bought one back in 1984 at place in City Center in downtown Minneapolis. I told the gal at the shop that I was looking for something more mild and she suggested a Macanudo. It was a good choice because it was, as she said, more mild.

Dinner with Mike

Saturday, June 6, 2015
I brought my stogie over to Mike's and he made me some dinner. Continued with cigars and cocktails.

Fourteenth Cigar of 2015
