The Lowbrow

Mike and I got together with an old high school acquaintance, Megan, this past Saturday night at The Lowbrow for dinner. Dale, Charisse, and Megan's guy, David, all joined us. Prior to meeting for dinner, Mike and Charisse came over to our house for cocktails. Mike had a Vesper martini, I had a Tanqueray martini, Dale had wine, and Charisse had beer. Megan, Mike, and I hung around The Lowbrow for one additional round.

A Particularly Tough Workout

Dale wrote the following post a few weeks ago in January. He was writing about a particular tough workout of his at the gym and added the following: "When I finished, I found Joe engaged in working on his fine motor skills, carefully picking up his martini, lifting it to his a mouth and carefully setting it down again. Whew! Looks like I need to stop whining after watching that feat of endurance!" Our gym was remodeled recently and added a bar, of all things. Needless to say, I've only taken advantage of said bar a couple of times after working out.

Stopped by Mike's house to smoke Cuban Cohibas that his neighbors brought back for him from Mexico. It was quite cold so we smoked them in his garage while listening to jazz. The cigars and jazz were both quite good.

La Flor Dominicana. When I bought it at Stogies on Grand the fellow asked me if that was was all. I said, "Just that." He said with a laugh and a smile, "There's no such thing as just a Digger." I told him I agreed. Ah, The Digger.
