Dale and I went to Psycho Suzi's last night with our friends Cindi and Maggie. Cindi and I both had a couple Coconauts. The drink is something of a combination of a white Russian and a pina colada. Very tasty and they come with these cute little monkeys as decorations.

Last week Mike texted me this picture of the martini he made for himself that night. This is what it looked like:

His message was "Stoli, up, three olives." I responded saying: "Ooo, baby, baby. I'll be sending you a photo of mine before too long..." Mike responded saying: "I'll show you mine if you show me yours. Oh, wait, I already showed you mine. Damn you vodka!" I texted him this...

...saying:"Texted it baby so I guess we've seen each other's!" His was vodka and mine was gin.

Dale and I stayed in tonight. Round one was a Tanqueray martini with olives. Round deux was a Hendrick's mini-martini without olives.

Dale and I had dinner tonight at Chris and Alyn's place. Everyone drank beer except me. I had a gin martini. I believe Chris made it with New Amsterdam. Quite nice.

Dale's Birthday Today

Last night we went out to Psycho Suzi's with Mike, Charisse, Warren, and Gary to celebrate Dale's birthday. What a trip! Lots of tiki drinks to be had. After dinner we stopped in the upstairs lounge to hear the house band.

Cocktails at McCormick & Schmick's

Dale and I took Mom out tonight in celebration of her birthday. I had a Hendrick's martini and Dale and Mom both had wine. The olives in my martini where stuffed with blue cheese and bacon. Our chatty waiter gave them a great endorsement. Quite delicious.

Very hot today. My iPhone tells me it's 91 degrees right now. Was cooped up in a building with no AC today. Drinking rum and Cokes (actually Coke Zero) and sitting on the porch while listening to Mondo Exotica from the Ultra Lounge series. Very pleasant all around.

Ordered the Sacrificial Virgin cocktail at Psycho Suzi's last night.

Birthday Shot

Found and bought some tiki shot glasses a couple days ago. Went online to find some shot recipes and found a site called drinklab.com. I found a very simple one for pink gin. All it is is a shot of gin (I used Tanqueray) and a splash of cranberry juice. It went down just fine.

Gary and Warren are visiting us up at the lake this weekend. I drank Tanqueray martinis, Gary made a bloody Mary and then moved on to a vodka martini, Warren had a rum and soda water with a bit of Rose's lime juice, and Dale had a Rolling Rock. It's fun sitting on the deck in the North Woods and having a drink.
